Council Minutes 2/8/22

President’s Council Minutes for February 8, 2022

The meeting was called to order by Council President Cal Knol at 6:30PM.

Roll call was taken by Council Secretary, Bev Knol, revealing that we had a quorum.   It is noted that there was no representative from building 12.

The minutes from our January 11, 2022 meeting, which were emailed to council presidents on January 25th and posted on the web page were reviewed.   Robert Pickard made a motion to approve the minutes and was 2nd by Lynn Anderson.  The motion was approved.

Treasurer’s Report:   Leanne Vander Woude went over the expenses for January and reported that our current balance is $5,000 reserve and $2,368.66 our actual balance.  Some questions regarding our electrical bill were raised but looking at past electric bills show that the amount is not out of order.  Dan Kraly made a motion to approve the report, which was 2nd by Marty Hartman.  Motion was approved.

Committee Reports

Clubhouse and Pool:  Robert Pickard reported that we have 4 bids on the clubhouse roof for shingle replacement.  They ranged from a high of $26,500 to a low bid of $17,500.  A suggestion was made to get a quote on a metal roof and also to check on a firm that could possibly do the roof and solar panels as one package.  Cal and Robert will look into this and report at our next meeting.

Robert reported that the solar panels currently on our roof are only working at about 50%, due to their age.  He is waiting for a quote to come in for replacement panels.  He also reported that some  of our bathers are dissatisfied with our current pool maintenance company, due to lack of proper cleaning of the pool.  Robert has received quotes from 2 other companies for pool services.  Robert, Cindy Adams and Susan Bechtol will do some further checking on these companies work and report back.

Lawn & Landscaping:  Cindy Adams still plans to put new mulch around our plants to freshen up the look.  She is looking for some help with this project.

Bingo:  Helen Marino reported that we have had about 20 to 25 people attending on Bingo night, and is going well.

Craft Club:  Helen Marino reported that they continue to make and sell cards.  They plan to make another donation to the Clubhouse but first they plan to enjoy a luncheon out for all their hard work.

Club 2180: Due to continued concerns with the Corona Virus we are holding off on activities for this season and hope to be up and running again next season.

Webmaster:  Ed Campagnuolo once again reminded presidents to get their new resident information to him or Cal as soon as possible, so we have the most current names & phone numbers, listed on the web site directory. It was also asked if there was a way, we can list approved workman and contractors on our web page as a reference for our community owners.

Community Comments:

Old Business:  Dan Kraly reported that for now, the sighting of racoons has lessened.  We have also been asked not to set traps, but continue to monitor the situation.  He reminded everyone that it is illegal to feed the ducks.  Regarding the feeding of cats, you may not put out food or water and leave it on the ground.

New Business: Nothing at this time.

Our next meeting is scheduled for March 8, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.

A motion to adjourn was made by Marty Hartman and 2nd by Janna Kaarenoja.  Motion was approved.

Respectfully submitted,

Bev Knol, Secretary
