Council Minutes 12/14/21

President’s Council Meeting December 12, 2021

The meeting was called to order by Council President Cal Knol at 6:30PM.

Roll call was taken by Council Secretary, Bev Knol, revealing that we had a quorum.   It is noted that there were no representatives from buildings 1, 8, 11, and 12.

The minutes from our November 9, 2021 meeting, which were emailed to council presidents on November 30th and posted on the web page were reviewed.  Marty Hartman made a motion to approve the minutes, which was 2nd by Lynn Anderson.  Motion was approved.

Treasurer’s report: Leann Vander Woude reviewed the November treasurers report. There was some discussion regarding the Solid Waste expense which is paid to the lease owner. It was also noted that the Water Sprinkler charge appeared excessive. Robert Pickard will look into this matter, as there may be a water leak. As of November 30th, the account balance was $10, 027.11. Jaana Kaarenoja made a motion to approve the report, which was 2nd by Helen Marino. Motion was approved.

Cal Knol brought up some additional insurance recommendations which were suggested by our agent, Chad Romano. They included Directors & Officers Liability at an annual premium of $2,254; A Crime premium $313.00; And Workers Compensation premium $661.00. These additions were discussed and some were considered to have a greater urgency. We decided to discuss this matter further at our next meeting.

Clubhouse: Robert reported that John Florio has nearly completed the clubhouse painting and repairs. There were still some cracks & sealants that needed to be applied.

Pool & Recreation Area: Robert reported that Jimmy Nielson had sealed over 80 solar panel leaks. We talked about the need for us to consider a roof replacement soon, which would also require the replacement of our solar panels. Estimates will be forth coming, and a suggested target date for completion of this project would be the summer of 2023.

Lawn/Landscaping/Grounds: No report

Bingo: Helen is hoping that we can resume bingo on January 5th. Cal Knol said he would obtain a new bingo license.

Shuffleboard: No report

Craft Club & Club 2180: Craft Club has met a few times over the summer and they are waiting for additional participants to arrive for the winter season. There was no report for Club 2180 as members have not yet arrived.

Webmaster: Cal Knol is again asking that building presidents please email him or Ed Campagnuolo with all resident updates, so we can keep the web site directory, as up-to-date as possible.

Community Comments:  A few of the president’s are frustrated that some buildings do a poor job of controlling weed infestations, which then encroaches on nearby lawns. Everyone is asked to please maintain their properties to provide a positive aesthetic look to our community.
