Council Minutes 11/8/2022

Presidents’ Council Minutes for November 8, 2022

The meeting was called to order by Council Vice-President, Robert Pickard at 6:30 p.m.

Roll call was taken revealing that we had a quorum. It is noted that there were no representatives from Buildings 2, 3, 12, and 14.

The minutes for the April 12, 2022 meeting were emailed to Council presidents, and posted on the web site. A motion by Charlie List, and 2nd by Jim Carreau to not read the minutes, and to accept as emailed, was approved.

Treasurers Report: Lee Ann Vander Woude was unable to attend the meeting to answer questions regarding the report. There was a motion by Charlie List and 2nd by Helen Marino to table the report to the December meeting. The motion was approved.

Committee Reports:

Clubhouse:  One quote has come in for $25,554 from Seabreeze in Boynton; it includes $15,580 for the solar. Robert has called several places but has not received call-backs for another quote. The Seabreeze quote would come down to $156.49 per unit for the roofing and solar. Permit, installation, and trash removal are covered by the bid.

Pool and Recreational area:  Violations are happening often in the pool area, e.g. eating or not following the rules on the sign. Robert encourages all of us to take responsibility when we see something to point it out to the offender. The outside sign is a State requirement. It was suggested that a notice could go out to residents regarding this matter.

Lawn, Landscaping, Grounds:  Pam Tulchinski was unable to attend this meeting. She received accolades for the work she has been doing. The sea grape will be trimmed. The mulching needs to be done. She is searching for alternatives to the mulch because it falls down on the steep sides of the garden.

Bingo:  Bingo is on hold until probably January when more people have arrived. Helen will not be able to help for several weeks as she is facing surgery and will be up East. Don from her building will collect the money in her absence.

Shuffleboard: The courts are looking good. Playing will start in December or January.

Clubs: The Craft Club members have been making cards throughout the summer. They are available for purchase from either Helen Marino or Cathy Kilcourse. Cards will be available for sale at the various social events of the Season.

Club 2180 will resume for the Season later this year.

Webmaster:  Ed Campagnuolo would like to be notified as events are scheduled so they can be put on the website. Any changes in contact information needs to be sent to him as well.

Community Comments: None

Old Business: None

New Business: The subject of charging stations for electric vehicles was brought up by Jim Carreau saying that there is a State Statute that those stations must be provided. Lively discussion followed, but with no resolution at this time.

Our next meeting is scheduled for December 13, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.

A motion to adjourn was made by Jim Carreau and 2nd by Charlie List to adjourn the meeting. Motion was approved.

Respectfully submitted,

Charline List, Acting Secretary
