Presidents’ Council Minutes for February 10, 2026

The meeting was called to order by Cal Knol at 7:00PM

Roll Call was taken by Bev Knol revealing that we had a quorum. There was no representative from building 8.

Council president Cal Knol noted that the minutes from January 13, 2025 had been emailed to building representatives on January 27th, and if there were no questions he requested to waive the reading of those minutes. A motion was made by Ed Campagnuola and 2nd by Lynn Anderson to approve the minutes, as written. Motion was approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Cal Knol noted that the January 2026 financial report had been emailed to building representatives on February 3rd.  A motion was made by Ed Campagnuola and 2nd by Dan Kraly to approve the Treasurer’s Report, as submitted. Motion was approved.

New Treasurer:  Cal Knol reported that Leann Vander Woude was retiring as the President’s Council treasurer/bookkeeper and that he is recommending Eva Carrea to be approved for the position.  He announced that her qualification credentials had been emailed to council members on February 8th.  He also has copies of her academic achievements and anyone desiring to see these documents were welcome to see him later. It was also noted that she has agreed to accept the position at the same pay rate that Leann was receiving of $l00.00 per month.  Lynn Anderson made a motion to approve Eva Carrea for this position and was 2nd by John Robuck.  The motion was approved.

Election or Retention of Council Officers.  Dan Kraly made a motion to retain our current officers and was 2nd by John Robuck.  The motion was approved.  Our officers are Cal Knol, President; Robert Pickard, Vice President; Bev Knol, Secretary; and Eva Carrea, Treasurer/Bookkeeper.

Pool: There were several minutes of discussion regarding our pool and the ongoing issues relating to the solar array failing to operate efficiently. It was also noted that the weather for the last couple weeks has been unusually cold which greatly hindered the warming of the water. President Cal Knol encouraged anyone with questions or comments, regarding this matter from both those sitting at the table and from the gallery.  Marion (Suki) DeJong commented that she had called a solar company from Miami and requested that they check our system for potential problems. Cal permitted this to move forward in an effort to have additional sources to inspect the solar heating system. He also noted that we are continually seeking advice and help from Barefoot Pools, who manages our pool, and our immediate intentions are to contact other solar heating companies that can potentially service and/or repair our system, so it can operate at peak performance.

Clubhouse: Cal reported the Mike Hidvegi with Handymen Inc. will be making several repairs next week, including fixing our front and back gates, replacing the broken handrail leading down the stairs into the pumphouse and replace a leaking waterline for the kitchen dishwasher.

Shuffleboard: No report

Lawn/Landscaping: Mike Tober and Pam Tulchinski continue to perform landscaping work around the clubhouse, and have also been assisted by Donna Laperle. Mike also offered his assistance with any landscaping around other buildings in our community.

Craft Club: No report

Bingo: Cal Knol reported that we have had from sixteen to twenty-six people attending bingo night, which meets every Wednesday from 7 – 9PM.

Club 2180:  Cal Knol reported that Wednesday the 11th was the deadline to purchase tickets for our Valentine’s Day dinner scheduled for Saturday February 14th

Webmaster: Ed Campagnuola reported that we had 109 visits to our community’s webpage during the past month.

Old Business: None

New Business: It was noted that the Super Bowl party held in the clubhouse on Sunday February 8th was attended by thirty people and that a good time was enjoyed by all! Projecting the game on our big screen worked out very well and the screen will remain up during the Olympic Games for potential big events that may occur.

Our next President’s Council Meeting is scheduled for March 10, 2026 at 7:00PM.

A motion to adjourn was made by Suki DeJong and 2nd by Ed Campagnuola.  The motion passed.
