Council Minutes April 8 2025

Presidents’ Council Minutes for April 8, 2025

The meeting was called to order by Cal Knol at 7:00PM

Roll Call was taken by Bev Knol revealing enough for a quorum.  There were no representatives from buildings 6, 8 and 12.

Council president Cal Knol noted that the minutes from March 11, 2025 had been emailed to building representatives on March 25th, and if there were no questions he requested to waive the reading of those minutes. A motion was made by John Roebuck and 2nd by Pat LaBarre to approved the minutes as written.  The motion was approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Cal indicated that the March financial report was distributed by Leanne Vander Woude at the start of our meeting and asked everyone to take a few moments to review the document and ask any questions. Following a few minor inquiries, Leann reported our current balance as $12,767.86. Marty Hartman made a motion to approve the report as submitted and was 2nd by Jim Carreau.  The motion was approved.

Gazebo update: Cal Knol reported that we are presently at a standstill regarding a gazebo due to permitting difficulties. Robert Pickard indicated that he knows a general contractor that may be able to request the permit from the city and likely be willing to build it too. We will continue to work on trying to make this happen, but will need to be patient as this process plays out.

Pool: Robert Pickard reported that the pool is really looking good and that everything is currently running well. The water has warmed nicely and we have seen a steady increase of people using the pool.

Shuffleboard: Robert Pickard reported that the shuffleboard season is virtually over as more people are traveling north, and that presently there is no consistent use of the courts.

Lawn/Landscaping: No report at this time.  We are very grateful to Pam Tulchinski and her committee for all of their hard work this year, and are looking forward to new plants that may be installed next season.

Craft Club: Cheryl Hulava reported that the Craft Club will continue to meet at the clubhouse through the summer as long as there are participants.  Cards are available through Cathy Kilcourse or Helen Marino at $3.00 each.

Bingo: Cal Knol reported that our final Bingo Night will be April 9th for this season.

Club 2180: Cal Knol reported that our activities are completed for this season, but planning to reactivate new events for next year.

Webmaster: No new report at this time.  Please remember to get your updated resident information to Ed Campagnuola or Cal Knol as they happen. Helen Marino has been working on gathering the newest possible resident information for a new hard copy directory that the Craft Club has offered to fund this project. Our thanks to Helen for her efforts to make this happen.

Old Business: None

New Business: Cal Knol reported that he attempted to schedule a police officer to speak to us about how we can improve security/safety in our complex. Unfortunately, they did not respond to our email or return our phone calls. Perhaps next season we can try and arrange this again.

Community Comments:  Cal Knol reported that our clubhouse fire extinguishers were given their required annual inspections, as well as several buildings, in the complex. Next year clubhouse extinguishers will need to be refilled and also replaced in 2032.

Our next President’s Council Meeting is scheduled for November 11, 2025 at 7:00PM.

A motion to adjourn was made by Jim Carreau and 2nd by Ed Campagnuola.  The motion was approved.

Respectfully submitted:

Beverly J. Knol, Secretary
